Andrew Lake, Instructor
Andrew Lake a Machinist and a soldier with the Ohio National Guard. Andrew was previously a Corrections Officer with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. At the Corrections Training Academy in Columbus, Andrew received the Top Shot award in his class for both Pistol and Shotgun Qualifications. Andrew started shooting when he was 8 years old. His father took him out and showed him how to use the .22 rifle they had. Andrew learned about safety and how to properly handle and care for firearms, spending much of his time hunting and learning to shoot any and every gun he could. After graduating high school, Andrew joined the Eagle's Nest Fight Team out of Elyria, where he advanced the martial arts skills his father had taught him, in the MMA cage. In 2007, Andrew completed the training requirements to obtain his concealed handgun license. Andrew went on to take more advanced firearms training from educators in Northeast Ohio. Andrew was a gunsmith at Short Action Customs, LLC for three years. While at SAC, he helped design and build some of the World’s best precision rifles. In April of 2015, Andrew enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and attended the Infantry School at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Andrew completed basic training and graduated from the Infantry School with Expert qualifications on six different weapons systems. Andrew is also a graduate of the US Army Combat Life Saver school, as well as Army Combatives levels 2 & 3. Andrew owns and operates, Guardian Arms Custom Guns, LLC which specializes in custom Cerakote finishing and re-finishing, firearm customizing such as: sights, triggers, and upgrades, as well as general gunsmithing including repairs and refurbishing. Andrew takes his training very seriously and continues to take courses all year long.
