Phase Line Defense Instructor Development
The Instructors at Phase Line Defense wholeheartedly believe in training and personal development and we do our best to instill this same mindset into our students. We believe in what we do and we believe in preparedness.
Here is a snapshot of the training courses that PLD Instructors took in 2017.
James Banks, along with Michael Russo completed the five day Law Enforcement Protective Operations course through Alexander Global Strategies at the Alliance Police Training Facility. James also went on to complete the two week Immigration and Customs Enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor Recertification at Fort Benning, Georgia. In August, James went to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia and completed the Department of Homeland Security Control Tactics Instructor Program, the Law Enforcement Fitness Coordinator Program, and the Instructor Development Program. In November, James completed a one day Vehicle Close Quarters Battle (CQB) course at the Alliance Police Training Facility. This was a total of eight weeks of highly intense training in 2017 and James is already set to train in 2018 with 88 Tactical for a four day High Threat Vehicle Engagements Instructor Course (HTVE) at the Northern Ohio Tactical Training Center (NOTTC).
Michael Russo also stepped up to the plate in a big way in 2017. In addition to Heat Phase 1, Heat Phase 2, and the five day Law Enforcement Protective Operations Course, Mike completed an Advanced Handgun Marksmanship, Advanced Handgun Mechanics, Advanced Handgun Movement, a two day Spatially Aware Shooter Course and a two day Rifle course through Waypoint Shooting School. Mike also completed the Mike Pannone Covert Concealed Carry Course, which included advanced low-light pistol training. Mike then went on to complete the Tactical Marksmanship Pistol and High Threat Environment Vehicle Course professionally delivered through Guerrilla Approach. Mike completed the USPSA 8 Hour Orientation course and competed in 5 USPSA Matches. In 2018, Mike plans to continue to compete in USPSA matches, return for numerous training courses through the Alliance Police Training Facility which will include the Vehicle Close Quarters Battle (VCQB) course through Centrifuge Training.
Chris Kalina completed numerous training days with his Department SWAT Team. Chris took a one day High Risk Search Warrants course put on by Delaware County SWAT, a Less Lethal Munitions taught by Defense Technologies and a Fighting With a Pistol From Concealment at Ohio Tactical Officer’s Association. Chris also completed a Vehicle Ballistics Course with William Petty from Centrifuge Training. In 2018, Chris will attend the 88 Tactical four day High Threat Vehicle Engagements Instructor Course (HTVE) at the Northern Ohio Tactical Training Center (NOTTC).
